RCPS is recognized as a state and national leader in the investment of instructional technology. RCPS has, in many ways, already realized a significant return on its investment through improved student achievement and increased student engagement. The most important dividend, however, is the extent to which students are college and career ready upon graduation. Since digital technology is the primary 21st century educational and business tool for accessing and sharing information, our goal is to leverage the power of technology to promote relevant, robust learning envirnoments in present time and prepare students with the skills needed for their future.

The two critical components of the RCPS technology program are tools and training. The technology tools required to support 21st century learning form of a complex system of interconnected parts. The purpose of this Technology Assessment is to evaluate the current status of these components, project future needs, and analyze funding options. We recognize that these tools are only used effectively and consistently with adequate training and leadership.
